Letaba Wireless Internet Review
Letaba Networks is a Tzaneen internet provider that sells uncapped wireless and fibre across Limpopo and into Mpumalanga, from 13 branches between Musina and Lydenburg. Every package is priced on its website, with no fixed contract. It suits a home or small business in its towns that values a local branch and a published price, and can live with best-effort speeds and a support record that recent customers rate poorly.

Is Letaba Wireless Internet worth shortlisting?
Yes, if you live or work in one of its towns, but go in with your eyes open. Letaba publishes every monthly price, keeps every package uncapped and lets you leave on one calendar month’s notice, which is more than most regional providers offer. Its own terms promise no speed and no uptime, though, and most of its Google reviews from the past year are one-star complaints about outages and fault tickets. Check coverage at your exact address and ask how faults are handled before you pay the installation fee.

Open prices and no lock-in, let down by best-effort service
Letaba began in 2005 as the wireless arm of an IT firm in Tzaneen and became a separate company in 2008. It now runs its own wireless network across the Vhembe, Mopani and Ehlanzeni districts, adds fibre in selected areas at up to 200 Mbps, and resells VoIP from Switch Telecom. Branches in towns such as Phalaborwa, Hoedspruit, Thohoyandou, Giyani and Burgersfort mean there is usually an office nearby, which matters in areas the national providers barely serve.
On price it does better than most: five package families are listed with speeds and monthly fees, everything is uncapped and unshaped, and the standard terms let either side cancel on one calendar month’s notice. What holds the score down is service. The terms make speeds best effort, rule out any uptime guarantee and limit support to the phone, and the recent customer reviews on Google are overwhelmingly negative.
Treat it as a priced, flexible local option that you should test before you rely on it for a business.

Score breakdown
Five categories that decide whether Letaba earns a slot on your shortlist. The headline is the weighted sum, so you can check the arithmetic.
A full public rate card with speeds, uncapped packages, published fibre installation costs and month-to-month terms. Held back because VAT is not stated and entry-level wireless is slow for the price.
Three wireless families, two fibre families up to 200/200 Mbps, VoIP, VPN, CCTV and point-to-point links. Capped because no static IP, failover or business service-level product is published.
2.9 from 416 reviews on the Tzaneen Google listing, read 8 September 2026. Pulled down further because the reviews of the past year are mostly one-star.
Letaba runs its own wireless network and says it has built-in redundancy and several days of power backup. Held back because its terms rule out any uptime guarantee and customers report repeated outages.
Long hours, seven days a week, by phone or WhatsApp, and local branches. Held back by phone-only support in the terms and reviews describing lost tickets and slow repairs.

What real customers say
Unedited Google reviews from Letaba’s Tzaneen listing, which averages 2.9 across 416 reviews.
“Excellent fibre installation… They were professional, efficient and a pleasure to deal with from start to finish.”
“So far you are the solution for all of us who come from villages.”
“I logged a ticket again on Monday, Tuesday I call and they said a ticket wasn’t logged.”
These three are a fair sample of the praise, not of the whole listing. Over four hundred reviews is a large base, and the balance is negative: most reviews from the past year are one-star, and they are mainly about the connection dropping and about faults taking days to fix. The good reviews are mostly about installers and branch staff. Letaba replies publicly to most complaints, which is worth something, but read the recent reviews for your own town before you sign up.
The Letaba product line
Wireless where there is no fibre, fibre where there is, and voice and private links on top.
Three tiers of fixed wireless
Wireless Value for basic uncapped use, SkyFibre for faster links (symmetrical on the entry tiers), and Wireless Prime at up to 200 Mbps for premises that need fibre-class speed over the air. All need a dish installed at your property.
Uncapped fibre in selected areas
Fibre and xFibre packages from 15/15 to 200/200 Mbps, with a standard installation fee that covers the first 75 metres of cabling. Availability depends on your street, so use the coverage check first.
VoIP, VPN and point-to-point
VoIP is supplied through Switch Telecom, with 087 numbers, number porting and PBX options from 2 to 200 extensions. Letaba also builds VPNs between offices, CCTV links, point-to-point wireless links and hotspots for lodges and restaurants.
Choose Letaba if
- You are in one of its towns and few other providers reach you
- You want uncapped internet with a price you can see before applying
- You do not want to be tied to a 12 or 24-month contract
- You value a branch you can walk into
Consider another if
- Your business loses money every hour the line is down
- You need an uptime commitment or service credits in writing
- You need a technician on site as part of the service
- A national fibre network already reaches your building

No fixed term: one calendar month’s notice to cancel. Payment by debit order; an account unpaid after the 2nd of the month is disconnected and charged a reconnection fee.
