Two risks grow the moment your endpoints leave the building: the security of calls on networks you do not manage, and the quality of calls on connections you did not spec.

Every remote endpoint is a device on a network you do not run. That is manageable, but only if the fundamentals are switched on. Insist on encrypted call media (SRTP) and secure signalling (TLS) so conversations cannot be trivially intercepted, and multi-factor login on the management portal so a leaked password is not a full breach. Most current fibre and LTE lines clear this comfortably for a handful of calls; the usual culprit is a home network saturated by everything else, not the line speed itself.
