What are the best alternatives to BizAI for a South African business?
The BizAI alternatives worth pricing are Remi, whose Lite plan answers calls for R1,900 a month with 500 talk-minutes and R1.85 a minute after; Agent Help, a receptionist built and hosted in South Africa from R1,999 a month excl. VAT with 150 minutes and R13 a minute after; and ElevenLabs, the voice platform BizAI itself lists among its AI sub-processors, from $6 a month for a team that can build its own agent. BizAI scores 6.7, with 7.0 for pricing value and for features, because Voice Valet arrives inside a full CRM with WhatsApp, booking and call logging for a published rand price. Its limits for a receptionist-only buyer are the bundle and the ceiling: Voice Valet is never sold without a plan, only 100 minutes are included, and BizAI publishes no rate for the minutes after that.
What is BizAI?
BizAI (styled BIZ AI) is business software for South African SMEs from TULSAPAX (Pty) Ltd, trading as MWCOM, in Midrand: a CRM with a WhatsApp inbox, bulk email and SMS and API access, to which Voice Valet adds an AI receptionist.
Plans are priced by users and otherwise identical: Starter at R999 a month ex VAT for three users, Growth at R3,000 for ten, Business at R5,400 for twenty and Enterprise at R12,000 for fifty, all month to month with a 14-day free trial and no card. Voice Valet is a separate R999 add-on on any of them, never included in a plan, with 100 AI-answered minutes a month and an alert at 80% of them; past 100 minutes BizAI asks you to talk to it rather than publishing a rate. The receptionist answers 24/7 in English and Afrikaans and switches between them mid-call, takes up to six calls at once, books into Google Calendar or Outlook with an email confirmation, logs every call in the CRM and transfers to a person with the context. Its AI runs through overseas sub-processors it names – Daily.co, Anthropic, Deepgram and ElevenLabs – under data processing agreements, and cancelling takes 30 days’ notice. It scores 6.7/10 in our review: pricing value 7.0, features 7.0, support 6.5 and reliability 6.0, with customer reviews not scored.
How do the BizAI alternatives compare?
BizAI is in the last row for reference. Every score is from that provider’s WhichVoIP review on the July 2026 rubric, and every price was taken from the provider’s own site on the date given under Sources. Mind the tax basis: BizAI and Agent Help quote ex VAT, Remi’s terms exclude VAT where applicable, and ElevenLabs bills in US dollars before taxes.
| Provider | Best for | Entry price | Strongest dimension | Score |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Remi | Busier lines that only need answering and booking | R1,900 / month (Lite, 500 min, then R1.85/min) | Pricing and features 7.5 | 7.0 |
| ElevenLabs | Building your own agent on the engine itself | $6 / month (Starter, 75 min, then $0.08/min) | Features 8.0 | 6.8 |
| Agent Help | Appointment businesses wanting South African hosting | R1,999 / month excl. VAT (Starter, 150 min, then R13/min) | Features 7.5 | 6.6 |
| BizAI (reference) | A CRM and receptionist from one supplier | R1,998 / month ex VAT (Starter + Voice Valet, 100 min, then quoted) | Pricing and features 7.0 | 6.7 |

The three alternatives in detail
Remi – 500 minutes in the base price
Strength: Remi publishes every rate a busy front desk needs: Lite at R1,900 a month for 24/7 voice answering with 500 talk-minutes, Complete at R6,500 with 2,500 minutes plus invoice chasing and deposits, and R1.85 a minute beyond either pool, with two months free on yearly billing. It books into Cliniko, Acuity, Fresha, Nookal and Google Calendar, sends reminders 48, 24 and 2 hours before an appointment, texts back anyone whose call it missed and hands sensitive calls to a person. Setup is free, it runs a trial week on a line for you, and cancelling stops billing at the end of the paid month. Pricing value and features score 7.5.
Watch-out: Voice answering is English and Afrikaans, the same as Voice Valet; the 11 official languages apply to messages only. The operator is a company registered in England and Wales, its speech and AI processing run in the USA and EU, and help comes by email or WhatsApp with no South African number or published hours. Support scores 5.0 and reliability 5.5.
Agent Help – a South African-hosted receptionist for appointment books
Strength: Agent Help (Pty) Ltd, based in Napier in the Western Cape, sells four receptionist plans excl. VAT: Starter at R1,999 with 150 minutes, Professional at R4,799 with 400, Business at R6,749 with 750 and Enterprise at R12,100 with 1,500, month to month with no setup or cancellation fee. Calls are answered in English and Afrikaans with mid-call switching, bookings go into Google Calendar, Microsoft 365 or Cliniko, and callers get a WhatsApp or email confirmation within 30 seconds plus reminders a day and an hour ahead. It is built and hosted in South Africa, and you can ring its demo line on 087 250 3226 before signing. Features score 7.5.
Watch-out: Extra minutes cost R13 each, so a line that outgrows its plan gets expensive faster than on Remi. Its terms promise high availability but no uninterrupted service and cap liability at three months of fees, and a named support contact starts on the Business plan. Pricing value scores 6.5, reliability and support 6.0 each.
ElevenLabs – the engine under the receptionist
Strength: BizAI names ElevenLabs among the providers that process its AI, and ElevenLabs sells the same agent platform directly: a free plan with 15 call minutes, Starter at $6 for 75, Creator at $22 for 275 (half price in the first month) and Pro at $99 for 1,238 minutes and 20 calls at once, each extra minute $0.08. Agents handle 72+ languages, switch as the caller does, book appointments, write to a CRM, send messages, keep transcripts and transfer to a phone number. It holds SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and PCI DSS Level 1 and runs a public status page. Features score 8.0 and reliability 7.0, both the highest on this page.
Watch-out: There is no finished receptionist to switch on. Someone has to build the agent, choose and pay for the AI model, and connect Twilio or a SIP trunk that bills you separately. Customer data sits in the United States unless you buy Enterprise, which is also the only tier with an SLA, and support scores 4.5.
This page carries no customer quotes. Remi and Agent Help have no Google Maps listing (both searched on 22 October 2026), and the BizAI and ElevenLabs reviews leave customer reviews unscored because neither has a South African rating with enough reviews, so we have not borrowed quotes from other sites.
Our verdict
BizAI earns its 6.7 as a package: a South African CRM, WhatsApp inbox and AI receptionist sold at published rand prices, month to month, with call records landing in the same system as your customers. As a receptionist on its own it is boxed in. You pay for a user plan you may not need, the R999 add-on covers 100 minutes, and the price of minute 101 is a conversation. Remi gives five times the minutes for slightly less, Agent Help keeps the service in South Africa with every overage rate published, and ElevenLabs suits a business with a developer that wants the engine without a middleman.
