Agent Help Review
Agent Help is a South African AI receptionist run from Napier in the Western Cape. It picks up your existing business number day and night, books the caller into Google Calendar or Outlook while they are still on the line, and confirms on WhatsApp within half a minute. Four plans are published in rand, from R1,999 a month excluding VAT. It is aimed at practices and service firms that run on appointments, especially doctors, dentists and vets, and it suits buyers who want a local company, local hosting and English or Afrikaans on the phone.

Is Agent Help worth shortlisting?
Yes, if your business lives by appointments and you would rather deal with a South African company. Agent Help publishes all four plans in rand with VAT stated, charges no setup or cancellation fee, goes live in about 48 hours and keeps data on South African infrastructure. Two things need checking first. The Starter plan includes only 150 minutes, roughly 75 calls, and every minute beyond that costs R13, so estimate your monthly talk time before you pick a tier. And there are no public customer reviews yet. Phone the demo line, then ask for a quote based on your real call volume.

A local, transparent AI receptionist, priced for low call volumes
Agent Help does one job and describes it carefully: answer the phone, collect the caller’s name, email and cellphone number, check the diary and lock in the booking before the call ends. A confirmation follows on WhatsApp or email, reminders go out a day and an hour before, and after the visit it sends a follow-up and, later, a prompt to rebook. Calls it cannot finish are passed to the person you nominate, and you get an emailed summary of every conversation.
Its strongest point is that it is local in every way that matters to a South African buyer. The company is registered here with named founders, the platform is built and hosted here, it acts as your operator under POPIA under a written agreement, and its terms fall under South African law. Prices are complete and plainly excluding VAT, and there is no setup fee, no lock-in and no fee to cancel.
The score is held back by cost per minute and by the reliability promise. Starter works out at about R13 per included minute, and overage is also R13 a minute. Higher plans bring the included rate down, but a busy line on a low tier gets expensive quickly. A written uptime and response-time commitment comes only with Enterprise. The terms give no guarantee of uninterrupted service and limit liability to three months of fees.

Score breakdown
Five categories that decide whether Agent Help earns a place on your shortlist. Customer reviews could not be scored, so the headline comes from the other four.
Every tier, its minutes and the overage rate are public, VAT is stated, and there are no setup, cancellation or contract costs. Marked down because 150 minutes for R1,999 is a small bundle and R13 a minute beyond it adds up fast on a busy line.
The whole booking journey in one flow: answer, capture details, book live, confirm, remind, follow up and prompt a rebooking, with call transfer, email summaries and a dashboard. Higher tiers add multi-practitioner routing, CRM links, several agents and API work. Capped by two call languages and a focus on bookings.
We found no Google listing for Agent Help, and no South African rating, on 21 and 22 October 2026. This dimension is left out rather than estimated.
Hosted in South Africa, and the company says the platform runs on redundant local infrastructure that keeps answering through loadshedding. Held back because no uptime figure is published, an SLA is reserved for Enterprise and the terms exclude outages caused by telephony and network suppliers.
Local support and done-for-you setup on every plan, a named priority contact from Business up and an account manager on Enterprise. Held back because Professional support is email in business hours, the published 087 number reaches the AI demo, and there is no public record of how issues are resolved.

What real customers say
We quote customers only from a provider’s own Google listing, read on the day we check it.
Agent Help has no public Google reviews yet. We searched Google Maps for it by name, at its Napier street address, by town and by its web address on 22 October 2026, after a first search on 21 October 2026, and found no business listing. Its own site carries a case study from a GP practice, but a provider’s own case study is not an independent review, so we do not quote it here and Customer reviews is left unscored. Ask Agent Help for two current clients in your line of work whom you can phone.
What Agent Help does
A single booking journey, from the first ring to the next appointment.
Answers and books in one conversation
The AI greets the caller, takes their name, email and cellphone number in conversation, checks live availability and confirms the slot before hanging up. It is trained on your services, prices and booking rules, answers on the number you already advertise, and passes urgent or unusual calls to the person you choose.
Confirmations, reminders and rebooking
A branded WhatsApp or email confirmation with the date, time, address and any preparation notes arrives within 30 seconds. Reminders follow 24 hours and 1 hour before, the client can confirm or reschedule from them, and a follow-up after the visit can ask for feedback and later prompt a rebooking.
Summaries, dashboard and integrations
Every conversation is summarised by email and logged in a dashboard showing call volumes, bookings and outcomes. Bookings go into Google Calendar or Microsoft 365 and sync with Cliniko. Business adds CRM and practice-management links and multi-practitioner routing; Enterprise adds several agents by department and custom API work.
Choose Agent Help if
- You run a practice or service business where every missed call is a missed booking
- You want a South African company that hosts your callers’ data locally
- You would rather pay month to month than sign a fixed-term contract
- Your call volume is modest, or you can size the plan to your real minutes
Consider another if
- Your callers need a language other than English or Afrikaans
- You handle long or frequent calls that would run far past the bundle
- You need a written uptime commitment without moving to Enterprise
- You want to trial the service on your own line before paying

South African essentials
Four local signals to verify before signing.
Your business stays the responsible party and Agent Help acts as its operator under a written agreement, with an Information Officer registered with the Information Regulator. Its privacy policy says it keeps call audio, transcripts and caller details, so ask how long they are kept and update your own consent notice.
The platform is built and hosted in South Africa, and the company says it keeps answering when your office loses power. No uptime figure is published, so ask for the record behind that claim.
Support is local, but on Professional it is by email in business hours, and the 087 number on the site reaches the AI demo. Agree who takes over when the AI transfers a call, and how you reach a person at Agent Help if it stops answering.
Billing is monthly with no lock-in, and cancelling takes effect at the end of the billing period. The terms are governed by South African law and cap Agent Help’s liability at the fees you paid in the previous three months.
How this score was built
Scores are editorial guides, not guarantees. Agent Help’s 6.6 is the weighted sum of the four dimensions we could score, with the weights rescaled because Customer reviews is not scored: (0.25×6.5 + 0.25×7.5 + 0.15×6.0 + 0.15×6.0) ÷ 0.80. Sponsorship does not move a score.
